ECE Substitutes, Inc. is hiring early childhood educators and classroom support staff for flexible substitute assignments.

This is a great opportunity for experienced child care teachers, assistant teachers, floaters, retired educators, college students in education, or anyone with early childhood classroom experience who wants meaningful work without committing to a full-time schedule.

You choose the shifts that fit your availability, and we match you with early learning centers that need reliable, classroom-ready support.

What You’ll Do

As an Early Childhood Substitute Teacher, you may support infant, toddler, preschool, or Pre-K classrooms depending on your experience and comfort level.

Responsibilities may include:

• Supporting the classroom teacher with daily routines and activities
• Supervising children in a safe, caring, and positive manner
• Helping with meals, transitions, rest time, play, and classroom cleanup
• Following the center’s schedule, policies, and licensing expectations
• Engaging children through play, conversation, songs, stories, and hands-on learning
• Helping maintain a calm, organized classroom environment
• Communicating professionally with center staff and ECE Substitutes

Schedule

This is a flexible substitute position. Assignments may include:

• Full-day shifts
• Same-week openings
• Recurring weekly needs when available
• Short-term classroom support

You are not required to work every day. We are looking for dependable educators who can keep their availability updated and accept shifts that match their schedule.

Qualifications

Applicants should have:

• Previous experience working with children in a licensed child care, preschool, early learning, school-age, or classroom setting
• Meet Minnesota Qualifications for an Assistant Teacher
• Ability to pass required background checks and onboarding requirements

Preferred but not required:

• CPR/First Aid certification
• CDA, degree, or coursework in early childhood education
